Like father, like son
He'll sleep through anything. I just hope he never falls asleep when there's a tornado warning... He'll never wake up in time. Mind you, I should have seen it coming, his brother is exactly the same!

CF-18 Plane Crashes at Lethbridge Airport
A Royal Canadian Airforce pilot ejects moments before his plane crashes at Lethbridge, Alberta. Somewhat scarily the music being played over the PA system was "Staying Alive by the Beegees".

Ayden sleeping and sucking his thumb By Shauna Williams
First off, don't freak out about Ayden sleeping on his front. He is almost 3 months old and can lift his head and actually turns it from side to side while he is sleeping. Secondly, we don't put him to sleep like this overnight. At the moment he is still sleeping in his bassinet beside our bed. Up until recently we have had a hard time putting him down to sleep anywhere let alone his own bed. It seems that whenever we get him asleep, as soon as we lay him down on his back in his bed or on the couch or wherever, within 2 minutes he's awake. I decided to try and lay him down on his front one day as he always seems to fall asleep on my chest. Low and behold, he stayed asleep. We have the baby monitor beside us at all times and also go in to his room just to make sure he is still breathing :)
Well this last time I checked on him he had switched the side he was laying on and also started to suck his thumb.

Being injured is fun
And what did I find behind the forbidden curtain? Actually a very cool studio. It's called a working studio which means items are filmed in studio with reporters and other busy people working in the background. Four big studio cameras are prominent in the middle of the room underneath two vast hanging lighting rigs.
My first and third days have been spent with Brad updating the Shaw web site. When the stories have been edited for TV, they are also compressed for the web and stored on a central drive. We then add the video to the sections of the Shaw site and link to other sites as appropriate.
One afternoon was spent sitting in with the editors. This, I loved. As a part time, amateur, basement editor myself it was great to see REAL professionals at work. I was surprised to learn that they only recently switched over to using Final Cut Pro on Macs, within the last year. Seeing as my Mac Pro is newer than the ones they were using I was not surprised that mine was more loaded then theirs.
Since then I have been working full time on the web site. Brad has been busy with the in studio stuff which left me available to work on it.
UPDATE: I have been given a date to have an MRI, March 19th. It will be close to eight weeks since the injury at that time.

Is it fractured?
Well needless to say my jump did not go as I had previously envisioned in my head. As I approached the take off point, the carpet started to spin around as if it itself was too scared of what lay in wait. The result? My right ankle digging in to the upslope and dislodging me from the plastic mat in a dismount that would have been awarded with a 9.0 9.0 9.5 9.5. After the immediate few seconds of self realization that it was a bad idea to begin with, my focus was drawn to the stabbing pain in my ankle which even after a few seconds was twice the size it normally is.
After crawling on hands and knees back to the origin on the incident I called Shauna to come and drive me home. I've twisted my ankle before, no big deal.
Jump to three days later and the purple blue bruising around my still ballooned ankle. Hmmm, it never did that before. But I still decided it would go away and all would be fine so I went back to work. After three days of working I realized it wasn't going away and it was still hurting, more so by the end of the day. A trip to the doctors office is what I needed.
As it turned out on the day I chose to visit the doctor, Shauna also had a doctors appointment to check the pregnancy was all going ok. When we finally arrived at the medi-center, we were told the wait time would be close to an hour and it was already after one o'clock. I decided to go back the next morning.
I arrived at the medi-center at 8:45 and still ended up waiting over an hour to see my doctor. After pulling and pushing on my ankle he decided that I needed to go for x-rays to be sure that nothing was fractured. Finally at around one o'clock, after examining the x-rays he deduced that it was just a bad strain and that I would be in some pain for two to three weeks. And just as a precaution, the radiologist would also look at the pictures to double check fir minor cracks.
It was just about six when the phone rang. It was my doctor. Apparently the radiologist found a fracture in my heel bone and that I would have to return to the medi-center tomorrow to get a air boot and may be off work on short term disability for four to six weeks.
